The BAD Bunch
We're not that bad really...though we do have a few off days here and there!
Bern-A-Dale Shorthorns was started as a joint effort between Bernie Bolton and his uncle, Lloyd Davis in the 1960's. Bernie's first heifer in his 4-H years was a Shorthorn heifer. Ever since that fateful pairing, Shorthorns of the red white and roan variety have been roaming the Bern-A-Dale pastures. Daughters and grandchildren alike have taken the halter and showed in the hallowed halls from Denver to Louisville and all the places in between.
After years of loading and unloading the showbox, the children and grandchildren have all started making their own career paths outside of the farm for now. The red white and roan still roam (with a little blue roan mixed in) but now there is more of a brood cow operation with a focus on maintaining pedigrees and possibilities.
We hope to continue and offer quality genetics with lots of potential for your herd. If you'd like to take a walk through the pasture and quiz Bernie on pedigree lines, just give us a call.
